Committed to the environment, The Karl Vella Group has invested £250,000 into ‘green’ projects across all sites. Developments including new energy efficient lighting and hi-tech flooring have been installed in a bid to cut carbon emissions and lower overheads such as utility bills at the same time. This was madepossible thanks to a loan by the Carbon Trust.
David Vella, Group Operations Director, said: “We’ve teamed up with the Carbon Trust to install sustainable, energy efficient lighting and hi-tech ergonomicflooring. This will enable us to cut our carbon footprint and reduce our fuel bills at the same time. This is an important step as over the past five years, our gas bills have doubled, so any money we save enables us to continue investing in future jobs and new equipment. It is a tough economic climate at the moment but by investing, we are able to stay at the forefront of our industry, whilst continuing to pass on savings to our customers. We are committed to thecommunities we work in and are focused on investing in, recruiting andretaining skilled people to ensure we are sustainable.”

In addition, a waste management programme has been rolled out across the group, designed to minimise waste and increase recycling. Solar Photo Voltaic panels are to be added to Karl Vella sites in Skelmersdale and Preston, meaning a car repair with Karl Vella does not have to cost the earth.
