Karl Vella Group is absolutely passionate about training young people and helping them develop and flourish. It’s an ethos that stems from our Chairman Karl Vella -who was awarded an MBE for his dedication to training – but now permeates throughout the whole company.
We operate an in-house apprentice training programme, bringing in new recruits every year and giving them the opportunity to develop their skills across a number of body repair disciplines. We also operate a continuing professional development programme, which has seen the majority of our team achieve Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) qualifications, and pass advanced certificates in their own disciplines.
All our senior managers are members of the Institute of the Motor Industry and are committed to Continuing Professional Development.
As for the wider industry, in 1996, Karl Vella set up a competition to select the UK competitor for the WorldSkills championship in St Gallen. Since then, Karl has coached two WorldSkills bronze medal winners, and Andrew Blair who won the Gold Medal in 2005. He is now the Chief Expert for WorldSkills in this category, and is also a board member of Training 2000, a Blackburn-based Automotive College.
If you’re interested in joining our apprentice programme, e-mail recruitment@karlvella.com with your details – we’d love to hear from you.
